Every June, PopRock's annual recital takes the stage at the AGBU Manoukian Performing Arts Center in Pasadena — Pasadena has been our students' biggest stage for years. The studio itself is a short drive south in Temple City.

HISTORY
Performing arts history in Pasadena
Pasadena is the performing-arts capital of the San Gabriel Valley, and it isn't close. The Pasadena Playhouse — founded in 1917, its landmark home opened in 1925 — trained so many stars at its College of Theatre Arts that it earned the nickname "Star Factory," and in 1937 the Legislature named it the official State Theatre of California. The Civic Auditorium (1932) hosted the Emmys and the Motown 25 night Michael Jackson debuted the moonwalk; the Ambassador Auditorium reigned as the "Carnegie Hall of the West" from 1974 to 1995; the Pasadena Symphony has played since 1928; and every New Year since 1930, marching bands from around the world have tuned up here for the Rose Parade.

Free trial policy
Free trials are limited to one (1) free group class and one (1) free private lesson per student, across all programs, and are subject to availability. Free trial private music lessons — including voice — require a deposit of 50% of the first-lesson rate at the time of booking. After the trial lesson is attended, the deposit is either refunded or applied toward enrollment. If the student does not show up for the scheduled trial, or cancels with less than 24 hours' notice, the deposit is forfeited. The deposit requirement applies to music and voice private lessons only; acting and dance offer free group class trials instead, and private lessons in those programs are generally reserved for advanced students.
