Do you offer private lessons or group classes?

Both. Private music lessons are available to anyone. Private dance lessons are mostly for competition students or special performances, and private acting is mainly for auditioning students and for accent and speech work. Group classes are also offered.

How much time commitment is required?

Very manageable — most recreational students take one class per week (about an hour). It's designed to fit busy family schedules.

How quickly will I see progress?

Most parents notice increased confidence within about 3 months. By around 6 months, students are typically recital-ready with solid foundational skills.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every student gets one free trial group class and one free private lesson, across all programs, subject to availability.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. PopRock Academy operates on a month-to-month basis with no long-term commitment required. The exception is the Hip Hop Competition Team, which is a full-season commitment: fees are non-refundable and, if you leave mid-season, you remain financially responsible under the written withdrawal policy.

My child has never taken classes before — is that okay?

Absolutely. Most recreational students are complete beginners, and PopRock's classes are designed specifically for first-time students.

What happens if I miss a class?

For group classes, you have 3 months to make up the missed class in an equivalent class (same duration, age, and level). For private music lessons, no make-up or reschedule is available; acting and dance private students may attend a group class instead.

What if my child is shy or lacks confidence?

That's exactly why many parents bring their kids to PopRock. Small classes (8–10 students on average) specialize in helping shy children build confidence.

What if my child wants to get more serious later?

Easy transition — students can add classes or audition for advanced levels anytime. Many professional-track students started recreationally.

What is the minimum age to start?

The minimum age is 3 years old for music and 5 years old for dance.

What should I bring to my first lesson?

Acting: comfortable clothing you can move in and closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops). Dance: athletic attire and tennis shoes. Music: any gear you have for your instrument and any books you have used before — if you have none, just bring yourself; songwriters and producers should bring a laptop if they have one, and singers should prepare one or two songs they can sing. Everyone: a positive attitude.
